Conviction by Lesley Jones Book Summary:
She was mine. Our love unquestioned. Our futures planned. But she didn't show. All that we had, all that we meant, and after all that was said, she just didn't show. That one act by her changed everything, but it especially changed me and from that moment on, there was no going back. No words of love, no whispered promises, just sex and drugs and rock and roll. No one gets a piece of Reed, but what they will get is the night of their life, the chance to let go, break their own rules and enjoy the best, the dirtiest, filthiest sex ever... Along with the other four people in my bed.
I thought he loved me, I believed everything he said, every promise that he made but then, when I needed him more than I'd needed anyone in my life, when I was at my most vulnerable, he let me down. He chose to take a different path and leave me to pick up the pieces of my now broken life. I was changed forever and chose the easy option, letting others take charge of my destiny, until once again, I'm let down in the cruelest of ways.
Dirty filthy sex.
Love.
Heartbreak.
Betrayal.
High emotion.
And a bit more sex.
Conviction by International bestselling author, Lesley Jones has it all. Out March 2015.
Lesley Jones Biography:
I was born and raised in a small working class town in Essex, just outside of East London. I am married with three sons and in 2006 we all moved to the other side of the world, settling on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula, about 50K outside of Melbourne, Australia. It's a whole new way of life for us down here, we are so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world.
I am currently a stay at home mum but in the past I have worked at Marks & Spencer, as a classroom assistant/teachers aid and have run my business.
As well as writing, I love to read and have been known to get through four or five books a week. My other interests are watching my boys play football...The round ball version. I am happy to admit to being an addict of social media and I owe a lot to my Facebook and Twitter family in promoting my work. I am also rather partial to a glass... or bottle of wine, a nicely chilled Marlborough Sav Blanc being my favorite. Being a born and raised Essex girl, I will happily admit to be being a big fan of spray tans, Shellac and am regularly, waxed, tinted and sculpted, although I am more likely to be found in thongs/flipflops than a pair of white stilettos these days.

What readers are saying:
“This book contains one of those controversial story-lines drawn straight from
today’s headlines. From the blurb, readers will immediately know that they are
on a path filled with sadness and pain as Ciera and Topher tell their story.
But there’s so much more, too. I was moved to tears and crushed by its
heartbreaking message. I was also touched by the sweet laughter and tender
moments that were shared by this young couple amid the serious issues covered.
This is also the kind of story that you get lost in and is hard to forget. It
reminds us of all the good that can come from a little forgiveness and kindness
towards one another. One act of kindness can go a long way in brightening
another’s day.”

Review: Pieces of Me by Kira Adams
Author: Kira Adams
Series: Book 1, The Foundation Series
Publisher: Self-Published
Released: August 11, 2014
Official Synopsis:
For sixteen year old Peyton Lane, life has never been easy. She’s not popular, overweight, and oh yeah, her sister is embarrassed of her. But over the course of a tumultuous year, everything changes for Peyton. Suddenly all eyes are on her and it’s not because she’s fat. From a pair of handsome twins to a couple of dangerously sexy rockers, Peyton will have to find out who she can trust with her heart. From the ups and downs to the twists and turns—this is Peyton’s story of finding one’s voice and growing into your own.
This is a coming of age romance that involves realistic situations and raw emotions. This is Pieces of Me.
My Review:
I thoroughly enjoyed Pieces of Me!! The beginning pulled me in and
left me wanting to know more because as the reader you want to know why
Peyton has chosen this path in life. The ending, when Peyton and Jace
begin their senior year, was a little vague of an ending to the story,
but definitely left me thinking about the characters of the story and
what was next for them, not only in life, but in their relationships as
well - which, in my opinion, is the best way to end a book.
I
do not know about most people, but when I am reading a book and there
is something that I am unsure of, I investigate and look it up. Such
was the case with the camping trip. When Jace started describing what
the two of them would stay in, a yurt, I gathered from the text that it
was like a cabin or a hut, but definitely not a tent. So, being unsure
exactly what a yurt was, I Google imaged it. I must say, from the
pictures I saw, they are beautiful and fit wonderfully into the story.
I
loved how every chapter began with a poem or a song, as I too write
poetry and express myself, much like Peyton, through my writing. It
gave you insight to what the next chapter was about. When I started the
first chapter the poem "Bone Breakin' (unfinished)" was definitely the
best title for the poem. I suspected the (unfinished) was not supposed to
be part of the tittle, but after reading the first poem and completing
the first chapter I thought it was very fitting. Peyton attempted to end her
life in the first chapter and leaving (unfinished) in the tittle made me
think of it as her life was unfinished.
The
characters worked well together and the story flowed between each of
them well. The story is believable and understandable. I could relate to
Peyton, as I am sure most high school girls could as well as those who
have already experienced and been through high school. High school can
be a difficult time for teenage girls, especially those who are
overweight, attempting to find herself and who she truly is, family
struggles, mixed emotions and signals, and eventually it all being too
much and calling it quits.
I give this book: 4.5 out of 5 stars!

Hello and Welcome
Hello and Welcome!
I am new to blogging, but I am definitely not new to the world of reviewing books. I started out as a beta reader for Dee Ann Waite and was soon being requested to read for other amazing authors such as Kira Adams, Christa Hins, and Tracey Cronin, just to name a few.
I hope you enjoy the reviews. I mostly read young adult or new adult, but I also enjoy thrillers, adventurer, etc. If you ever need someone to review a book, please let me know. You can email me the request and we can work something out from there.
Original when I started as a beta reader I would receive an e-copy of the book. However, I typically request a signed paperback especially when I am asked to review a book. Hence the blog title: Paperback Junkie! I know that everyone says that e-books are the way to go and the best in technology, but there is something about holding a book, feeling the pages, the smell of paper, and the feeling of accomplishment with owning a signed copy of a book I review.
I cannot wait to get started. I have some amazing books to rave about! I will review a few books that I have already read in the past couple of months, but trust me, they are amazing!
A special thanks to an amazing author and long-time friend: J.D. Estrada. You have always inspired me to write, read, and do the things I love. Thank you for always being there! Thank you to all my Indie authors as well for trusting me with your works of art and encouraging me continue with my readings.
Continue to read and expand your mind!
